About Us
Sustainable
We are a family-owned farm - Jon, Lizzie, and a dog named Bu - working hard to bring you quality mushrooms and honey, guaranteeing the freshest tastes and highest nutrients. We work with local New England farms and producers to source all our materials, and use only biodegradable materials throughout our grow process and in our packaging. We also use all our spent mushroom blocks to create bodacious fungally dominant compost to restore and revitalize our soil.
Small Batch
We are a small scale operation, learning as we grow. We do our best to ensure the greatest variety of mushrooms are available at market - even so, sometimes we run out. But being small means we can be flexible, and we look forward to learning what you like,
so we can provide.
Slow Food
We thrive on building lasting relationships within our community and promoting local biodiversity. We strive to produce sustainable products while using practices that promote a positive
environmental and social impact.
Before moving to Vermont, Jon studied soil microbiology, and was known as the "poets' gardener" in Cambridge. Lizzie studied design and worked as a social justice activist, yoga teacher, and nonprofit grant writer.
Our interest in the mycelial connections beneath our feet, the fragile interdependence of ecosystems and interconnectedness of all things, led us to mushrooms.
We are thrilled to be putting down roots here in Vermont and can't wait to bring you the best mushrooms & honey around!
